Jennifer has been an Emergency Department Nurse for all 28 years of her nursing career, serving in leadership for the past 10 years. The majority of her career has been at Rapid City Emergency Department, a Level 2 Trauma Center and the busiest ED in the state, seeing around 53,000 patients per year. In her role as Director, one of the biggest challenges faced has been the lack of sufficient resources to meet the growing and changing needs of Behavioral Health patients in rural SD. She has worked closely with Avel (Avera eCare at the time) since 2019 to implement and continually improve the utilization of telehealth to help bridge this gap.
