Seth Parsons, MD, serves as a Physician of Behavioral Health. Dr. Parsons started at Avel in 2019 and has played an integral role in the development of the organization’s Behavioral Health core service that supports emergency departments, medical inpatient units, and behavioral health hospitals. He previously held the role of Clinical Physician Lead for the service line. Dr. Parsons supervises Behavioral health staff that integrate throughout Avel’s service offerings, including Emergency’s nursing assessments, School Health’s therapy, and Specialty Clinic’s outpatient appointments. In addition, he has been a leading contributor to the development of Avel’s Virtual Crisis Care program which has been successfully deployed in the state of South Dakota (and soon to be Nevada) to assist law enforcement in crisis assessment and management.

Dr. Parsons completed both medical school and residency at The University of South Dakota. He is board certified by the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology.
