Victoria Walker, CMD
Medical Director and Clinical Officer of Senior Care, Avel eCare
Victoria Walker, MD serves as Avel eCare’s Senior Care Medical and Clinical Officer. In this role, she is responsible for overseeing the clinical senior care team’s delivery of services that exceed customer expectations, leading quality programs for senior care, and actively working on regulatory monitoring and public policy to benefit telehealth and seniors. Dr. Walker started her career as a Family Physician and transitioned into the Geriatric field to help assist these patients with complex care needs. She has been practicing medicine for 20 years and joined Avel eCare in August 2020, bringing in her expertise to post-acute and long-term care medicine.
Dr. Walker received her medical degree from the University of South Dakota and completed her residency in Washington, PA. While completing a Health and Aging Policy Fellowship in 2014-16, Dr. Walker was the national coordinator for the Family Caregiver Platform Project and worked with the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) to partner with the provider community to reduce adverse events in post-acute and long-term care. She is a clinical associate professor at the University of South Dakota Sanford School of Medicine, is certified by the American Board of Family Medicine and is a certified Medical Director by AMDA-The Society for Post-Acute and Long-Term Care Medicine. Dr. Walker also serves on the board of the South Dakota Foundation for Medical Care and chairs the Public Policy Steering Committee for AMDA-The Society for Post-Acute and Long-Term Care Medicine.
