With 27 years of experience in health care business, finance, and economics, Jay Weems brings a diverse set of skills to his position as Chief Operations Officer for Avel eCare. In his current role, Weems focuses on evaluating market needs, outlining system opportunities, and implementing new virtual care programs. These efforts also include Weem’s role in spearheading the launch of two important virtual care offerings in 2009: eCare Emergency — offering on-demand consults to hospital emergency departments across the nation—and eCare Pharmacy—providing remote pharmacy coverage and medication review to partner sites.

Weems holds a Masters of Business Administration from the University of South Dakota and graduated from the South Dakota State University with a Bachelor of Arts degree in commercial economics and a Bachelor of Science degree in agricultural business.
